I remember my financial education at that time of life consisted of taking a threepence or sixpence to school to be added to my bank passbook. Somewhere lodged in our belongings is one of those old Commonwealth Bank money boxes as an infrequent reminder of the poor financial skills we all start life with.
For our parents, saving was a simple matter of survival. This is no longer the only driver for us as we are all now required to take greater and greater responsibility for our personal and family finances. “My Children, Ben (aged 9) and Kirsty (aged 13) love the MAGNET Money System! Even my husband and I are using the same principal with our money.
They keep their toolkits in their rooms and separate their money as soon as they receive it each week.
